Have you ever had the feeling that you wish you would have carried on with that instrument you were learning to play? There is definitely a global community that has this thought once in a while. Many people believe that there is a musical instrument out there for everyone. School Of Beatbox, a social enterprise located in London teaches people from all walks of life, of all abilities and of all ages how to beatbox. Danny Ladwa, founder of the organisation believes that using the voice as our instrument is in fact an innate ability that we all have, we just need to open the door.
Picking up a brand new instrument for anyone, whether they are musically inclined or not, will have it’s challenges but School Of Beatbox breaks the art form down into simple steps so that anyone can learn at their own pace. Students can choose to learn online, in a group workshop or even in a private 1-2-1 session with a championship level beatboxer.
Understanding How To Beatbox Is Like Learning A New Language
Danny has been beatboxing himself for over 25 years and has been teaching people from all over the world for over 15 years. He says that learning how to beatbox is like learning a phonetic language and that once you understand that it’s actually about making sounds (or saying things) in certain patterns “it can be quite addictive”.
School Of Beatbox is also a social enterprise that works with disadvantaged people and people with physical and mental disabilities. Furthermore, a minimum of 10% of all income goes towards their very own outreach projects.
