Danny with other judges and winners of poetry competition
Hey everyone!
We just had the most amazing day at the Foundling Museum in Brunswick Square, and we're bursting to tell you all about it. The museum was alive with energy as Year 6 students from across the country came together for a fantastic poetry competition. Trust us, these young poets are something special!
Danny was on the judging panel, and he was absolutely thrilled to be part of the event. Before things got underway, he helped to shake off the young poet's nerves with a beatbox workshop. It was definitely the right item on the menu to get everyone pumped! The kids and adults jumped right in, experimenting with beats and rhythms, and the excitement was infectious. It was the perfect icebreaker and set such a positive vibe for the rest of the day.
When the poetry performances began, we were completely blown away. These students poured their hearts into their poems. Some had us laughing until our sides hurt, others left us deep in thought, and a few just had us in pure admiration. It was so inspiring to see them express themselves so freely and confidently. Honestly, watching them was a reminder of why we love doing what we do.
A huge shoutout and congratulations to all the finalists and winners—you guys were phenomenal! But let's not forget every single participant who got up there and shared their work. That takes real courage, and you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves.
We also want to extend a massive thank you to the Creative Education Trust for making this unforgettable day possible. They have supported the work of School of Beatbox for some time now and it was a pleasure to work with them on this special day. We're so grateful to have partnered with them for this event.
We can't wait to see where these talented young poets go from here. The future is definitely bright!
