Danny Ladwa founded School Of Beatbox in April 2018. Danny started beatboxing at the early age of 11 years old after realising that the music he was hearing in his head were his own compositions. What started as merely a party-trick soon turned into a profession and led to Danny competing in the UK Beatbox Championship Finals and performing around the globe, delivering over 250 shows.
Danny has been teaching the art of beatboxing to people of all ages through workshops for 15 years and decided it was time to take his teachings of this art-form online. With 'Technique' being the most important factor when learning how to beatbox properly, video lessons are a perfect way to be able to go back over any lesson and be reminded of how to make any sound whenever you like. Once you have purchased your chosen online beatbox course you will be able to contact us anytime with any questions about any of the sounds and techniques and we will get back to you with support to ensure you are on the right track. We Love Beatbox!
Danny Ladwa is also a singer and songwriter who performs regularly whether solo or in collaboration with other excellent artists. Danny wrote and released his debut solo album 'Unfolding' on May 25th 2015 and you might be surprised to know that there is no beatboxing on the record whatsoever. Danny says "beatboxing is always best experienced live, when you can see the artist expressing this unique art-form". The album fuses the styles of reggae, Hip Hop, Electronica and Soul.
Danny’s musical past is colourful and diverse, and he is truly an international artist who has performed in the four corners of the Globe. Past career highlights include performing alongside ‘Supa Mc TC Islam’ (Zulu Nation) in the Amazon rainforest, Brazil at ‘EcoSystem Festival’, joining Hip Hop fusion band ‘NOU’ (One Little Indian Records) in Brighton for their UK tour, winning a place in the UK Beatbox Championship Final, co-writing music with Mo Pleasure (musical director for Earth Wind & Fire and played with high calibre artists such as Ray Charles, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder) and playing on the same stage as artists such as ‘Neneh Cherry’, ‘Lee Scratch Perry’ and ‘Fat Freddys Drop’.
In 2006 Danny collaborated with Gaudi and the Live Dub Laboratory at the Glade Festival which swiftly lead to more UK and European dates and Danny being featured later on Gaudi’s album ‘No Prisoners’ on the track ‘Brainwashed Again’. He later featured on Gaudi’s 13th solo album ‘In Between Times’ on the tracks ‘Unlimited Possibilities’ and ‘Why U Wanna Run’ all of which he co-wrote. Danny spent 5 years touring internationally with Gaudi (2011-2015) performing everywhere from Goa to Glastonbury. The tour included an extensive number of dates in the U.S, Canada & Europe with additional dates in Japan, India, Australia and Central America. Their journey together isn’t over though and they combine forces for shows around the globe.
In 2019, Danny was been commissioned by Format (the UK’s leading festival of international photography) to put together a 1 hour piece of music. For this he teamed up with guitarist Pippo De Palma (Loungedelic) and tabla player Dalbir Singh Rattan. The summer saw Danny on lead vocals as part of super-band ‘Novelty Engine’ alongside Clive Deamer (Portishead, Radiohead) on percussion, Andy Gangadeen (Massive Attack, Spice Girls) on drums, Neil Cowley (Brand New Heavies, Adele), Steve Hillage (Gong, System 7) on guitar, Miquette Giraudy (Gong, System 7) on synths and Ajja Leu (Tip Records) on guitar.
Danny's latest live project 'Karma Boy' joining forces with fellow musicians Pippo De Palma and Dalbir Singh Rattan is set to release their first EP in 2020.
